Who I am
Bob's Computer Service is a mobile computer repair and IT support business run by me, Bob Gregory. I serve homes and small businesses in Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. When this policy says "I" or "me," it means Bob's Computer Service. This policy covers the website at www.bobscomputerrepairs.com.
Information you give me
You can use this website without telling me who you are. I only get your personal information when you choose to send it.
- Contact form. When you send a message, the form collects your name, your email address, your message, and the web page you were on when you sent it.
- Newsletter signup. The signup form on the Newsletter page and at the bottom of every page collects your first name, last name, and email address.
- Phone, email, and text. If you call, email, or text me, I receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, address, and a description of the problem.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records some technical details when you visit. My hosting company keeps server logs that can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time of each visit. The tools listed below also collect information through cookies or similar technology.
Cookies and outside services on this site
- Google Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to understand how people use it, such as which pages they visit, how long they stay, how they found the site, and their general location, device, and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this, and Google processes the data on my behalf. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from Google.
- Meta Pixel. This site uses the Meta Pixel from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It tells Meta when someone visits this site, which helps me measure and target my Facebook and Instagram ads. Meta may connect this to your Meta account if you have one. Meta's own privacy policy governs what it does with that information.
- Google reCAPTCHA. The forms on this site use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, and sends it to Google. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
- Google Maps. The Contact page shows an embedded Google map. Loading the map connects your browser to Google.
- Google Fonts. Some of the lettering on this site loads from Google's font service, which sends your IP address to Google.
- Site cookies. WordPress, the software this site runs on, may set cookies that help the site work properly.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
How I use your information
- To answer your questions and schedule service visits.
- To send my newsletter, if you signed up for it.
- To keep the website running, secure, and free of spam.
- To understand how visitors use the website so I can improve it.
- To measure how well my advertising works.
I do not sell your personal information.
Who else handles your information
I share information only with the companies that help me run this website and my business:
- IONOS hosts this website and stores its data, including contact form messages.
- Mailchimp stores the newsletter list and sends the newsletter.
- Sitez Incorporated, the company that builds and maintains this website, receives a copy of each contact form message.
- Google provides Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Maps, and Fonts, as described above.
- Meta provides the Meta Pixel, as described above.
I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect my business or other people from fraud or harm.
How long I keep it
The website keeps a copy of the emails it sends, including contact form notifications. I keep messages and customer records for as long as I need them to serve you and to run my business. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email me and I will remove you.
- See, correct, or delete your information. Email or call me and I will tell you what I have and fix or delete it, unless I need to keep it for legal or business records.
- Ads. You can control the ads you see from Meta in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
How I protect it
This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and I keep the site and its software up to date. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive details through the contact form.
Children
This website is not meant for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If I change how this website handles information, I will update this page and the effective date at the top.
