The individual who had been doing my regular PC maintenance decided to discontinue his business, so I was forced to seek a replacement. I arranged an appointment with Bob on 4/2/2014 (I still have my receipt for that date and all the others since then). I believe all those sheets of paper represent a tribute of trust in over 10 years of uninterrupted service from Bob (Bob’s Computer Service). My move from Springfield to Somers did not sever that connection, and I still rely on Bob for routine maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, as well as annual upgrades to security software. He has also helped me through hardware replacement to sustain compatibility with the latest version of the Windows OS. My exposure to computer technology began in the late 60’s and lasted until my career with the same company since 1964 ended in 2003. Much of this time I was doing programming for CAD applications; so, I’ve seen things evolve from key punched card input for an IBM 370 to DELL desktop PCs linked in a LAN with a gateway to the internet. The upshot is, I think my experience (“computer literacy”) allows me to recognize a reliable “professional”, and Bob fits that profile.
